Three-point turns are used when a road is not wide enough to do a U-turn.
Because it takes longer to do a three-point turn, in heavy traffic or on busy roads it is often safer to turn around by driving around the block instead. Before commencing a three-point or U-turn, signal, check mirrors and blind spots. After completing the turn, signal and check mirrors and blind spots, before rejoining the traffic.
Check your blind spots each directional change.
🚗 Perform a kerbside stop before starting the 3 Point Turn.
🔀 Indicate your intent for at least 5 seconds before leaving the kerb.
👀 Safety is key, by checking for traffic, pedestrians and hazards before each directional change. How do we do this? by checking blind spots!
👉 Look in the direction of travel during each turn.
🔁 Use your indicators when exiting out of a 3 Point Turn. Safe driving!
